Description

Here is a Bachmann 81705 HO Frisco 2-10-0 Decapod Steam Locomotive #704. It features a plastic body construction, plastic trucks with metal wheels, operating knuckle couplers and a motor.

Introduced in the late 19th century, the 2-10-0 was first unveiled in North America for the Lehigh Valley Railroad on the East Coast. The 2-10-0 notation would catch on quickly, and would soon before commissioned in rail-yards all over the world for their versatility, and powered axels making them a powerful locomotive despite drawbacks with the firebox and running at low speeds. These models would run well into the mid-20th century before eventually making their way from a running status to a preservation state. Today a handful of these Decapods can be found in museums!
