This is a Broadway Limited 327 HO Scale Pennsylvania Paragon Series Platinum Steam K-4 4-6-2 with Quantum Sound #5418; Cast Pilot, Generator on Smokebox Front. K4 4-6-2s were Pennsy Steam Favorites .Pennsy’s K4 was one of the most successful locomotives ever built. Offering a combination of power and speed, this versatile locomotive provided over 30 years of mainline service and was used in later years on commuter consists and specials. By the time Pennsy retired the class in 1957, it had outlasted most other steam engines including the modern duplexes. These diecast metal models feature five-pole can motor with flywheel, metal wheels and axles, driver set replacement kit, traction tire option, two operating knuckle couplers, constant intensity lighting, lighted numberboards, operating cab-roof vents and detailed backhead. Handrails and decorative bell and whistle are separately applied. They are available with or without Quantum Sound. Will operate on minimum 18 radius curve and code 70, 83 and 100 track. K4 4-6-2s were Pennsy Steam Favorites.

Heralded for its ability to haul passengers, the 4-6-2 was a versatile model hauling freight and coal as well, with tank variants being introduced later during the 20th century. Traveling at speeds upwards of 100mph the 4-6-2was featured on rail-ways ranging from Argentina to Egypt, and all the way to the far East in China!
