Description

Here is a Lionel 6-38351 O Gauge Union Pacific GP-7 Diesel Engine #1038 from the Archive Collection. Shown in the 1955 advance catalog as #2028 but never produced, an early toy fair prototype was made by Lionel as #1038. This engine features a plastic body construction with a metal chassis, transformer controlled forward, neutral, and reverse operation, pullmor motor, directional headlights on both ends, electronic diesel horn and bell, diecast metal trucks ,pilot, and fuel tank, Magne-Traction, tractions tires, illuminated cab interior, and operating knuckle couplers.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. Back paint on the underside of the trucks shows small spots of paint chips. The instruction manual is included. The wheels and pickups show light signs of wear from previous use. The original box is included. Check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Excellent.
