Description

This is a Lionel 6-84637 O Cotton Belt BTO SD40T-2 Diesel with Bluetooth #9389. Originally developed to prevent overheating in the many tunnels and snow sheds of the Southern Pacific’s mountain routes, the Tunnel Motors could often be found wandering far from those hills. Most of the venerable locomotives outlived the Espee and Rio Grande to find new careers on the Union Pacific, leasing companies and regional railroads all around the country. Offered in some of the classic original schemes as well as the kaleidoscope of new patched and repainted schemes. The patriotic Cotton Belt 9389 represents a unique bicentennial scheme applied to the similar SD45T-2 – but just too cool not to offer on our model!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. The plow is missing and not included. Some of the trim parts and hoses on the platforms are broken or missing. This also shows areas of paint wear from the missing items. Railings and some grab irons are also lightly bent and chipped. Aside from these minor imperfections, this locomotive is in very good condition and ready to get rolling on your layout! This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
