This is a Lionel 8587 Wabash GP-9 Diesel Locomotive from 1985. This diesel locomotive was offered only through JC Penney during the 1985 Christmas season. It features an AC/DC universal type motor, two Magne-Traction driving axles, diesel horn, twin headlights, metal trucks, and metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. This item appears to have been run, and displays overall signs of light previous use. It appears the previous owner replaced some of the original trucks. There are nicks and scratches on the shell and chassis of this item. There is discoloration on the diecast by the axles. The wheels show signs of average run-time. The original paint is in great shape, and the unit displays excellent overall finish. This item has been out on display previously and its overall appearance could be significantly improved with a thorough dusting or a light wipe down. The instruction manual is not included.
