Description

Here is a Sunset Models HO Scale BRASS Southern Pacific D-1 2-10-0 Steam Locomotive. This locomotive features unpainted brass construction, brass trucks, metal side rods, knuckle coupler and a motor.

Introduced in the late 19th century, the 2-10-0 was first unveiled in North America for the Lehigh Valley Railroad on the East Coast. The 2-10-0 notation would catch on quickly, and would soon before commissioned in rail-yards all over the world for their versatility, and powered axels making them a powerful locomotive despite drawbacks with the firebox and running at low speeds. These models would run well into the mid-20th century before eventually making their way from a running status to a preservation state. Today a handful of these Decapods can be found in museums!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. There are scratches and rub marks on the engine and tender. There are a few dark marks to the tender. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included along with the foam liner. Please check the photos for a detailed look at this item. Overall condition is Excellent.
