Here is a Van Hobbies HO BRASS CNR 4-8-2 Steam Loco & Tender #6060. This exceptional locomotive features painted and decorated brass construction, metal siderods, metal wheels, and motor.

Drawing its roots from South Africa and first introduced in the early 19th century, the 4-8-2 or also commonly referred to as the “Mountain” type made waves when it first hit rail-ways thanks to a re-designed truck system that granted these powerful locomotives excellent stability when traversing at high speeds with passenger cars. Their practicality and reliability would not go unnoticed and the 4-8-2 quickly founds itself commissioned to rail-yards across the world. The 4-8-2 has since moved on from rail-yards and now several models can be found in various museums throughout the United States.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-7: Excellent based on visual appearance. The coupling that connecting the motor shaft to the gearing is broken and has been replaced with a heat shrink tube. Due to the nature of the repair, we recommend only running this locomotive at low speeds. These items show some scratches and spots of paint loss on the shell and chassis. This item has been inspected by our repair shop. Please see the attached picture for inspection details and additional operation information. The instruction manual is not included.
